Skin your firefox with light-weight Personas for Firefox

Mozilla Labs launched a new exciting feature for all those FireFox users who would love to install quick skins to their firefox – “Personas for Firefox“.

You must be reminding yourself about the themes for the firefox? Yes the theme are still there and themes are actually add-ons to download and install in the firefox that change the complete look and feel of the browser including the buttons, menus and explorer bar.
While the personas for the firefox are just the skins that can be easily installed with a single click without need of downloading any addon to apply the skins.

First of all you have to install the personas addon by pressing the big green button saying “Get Personas for Firefox – Free”. After installation of the personas addon, you’ll have to restart the browser to get it working.

From then on just visit the main Personas Gallery page, Hundreds of skins are categorized there to choose from.

To install a skin just open the skin’s details and apply the skin. Unlike themes for firefox you don’t need to restart the browser to see the effect. Skins are applied immediately as soon as you click the install skin button.

The best thing about personas is that you can preview a skin before you decide to apply it. Just hover your cursor on any skin preview you see. 🙂

Or you may quickly install the popular and newly arrived skins form the personas menu (after installing personas addon) in the extreme left of the lower status bar.

Now I can change skins in my firefox after every few days just like I can do in Chrome. Go and dress your firefox with your style and share the skin you like the most.
