DeeperWeb – Customize Your Web Search Experience on Google

DeeperWeb is a free search engine tool for Google users that allows navigating through search results by employing tag cloud techniques. Additional technologies such as Topic-Mapping methods are implemented to assist users in identifying relevant results upon a specific topic.

Tag cloud becomes useful when it fetches the tags associated or found relevant to the search query. If it is a website then it takes all the tags included in that site. The larger the tag cloud the more results relate to the term.

If you click any term in the tag cloud it will add that term with the search query and redo the search with included tag. Want to exclude a tag from the search? Click small red minus sign with each tag and search will take everything except that tag.

Additionally it takes search results from some popular web sources as well – called “Zoomies”. Like Wikipedia, Answers, Google Blog Search, Business News, Metrics and other resources. So you can view what’s found on other sources and know more about the search term in one glimpse.

You can optimally turn on and off any Zoomy if you want. If you’re satisfied with your results then you can completely hide the right pane with DeeperWeb’s widgets.

DeeperWeb is basically a Firefox extension to make your search more convenient. It auto install itself to every Google web search and sits in right top of the search page. You can open/hide the DeeperWeb’s widgets anytime.

In short, DeeperWeb is a very innovative web addon that can help in saving a lot of time and effort in your web searching. A small addon for Firefox might take a little space on your screen but it’s worth allowing it to be there.
